The Apocalypse is about the disclosure of a secret, which no one, except the lamb, is able to unveil. Alejandro Häsler has wanted to express this in the presentation of the book: a box-book which no one knows what it contains until, little by little, it is opened. As a fundamental expressive element, the artist uses the colors from the text by Saint John of Patmos. Outside: black – misery, disgrace and inside: renovation, new life.
Inside: renovation, new life.
The inside of the box is lined with green velvet: is death, necessary for man, freeing the body from its existing bonds, to achieve salvation. With its sunken space (a reminder of Christ’s Sepulchre), where the treasure, the book is placed: a spiritual, not material treasure. The book, with its richness of images, texts, typography and the beauty of its paper…, is a symbol of the triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness, through art.
